Saturday, May 15th

Jerry continues  to hang in there.  Mostly he is sleeping much of the time now, but has brief periods of wakefulness where he is himself and able to have short conversations with his beloveds.  He is comfortable, painfree, and surrounded by love.   Please say prayers for Jerry, and for Susan, Alyse,  Lucas, and Claire.

…now the mornings  come and go

keeping time , the years go quickly ’round

an old man with greying hair

watches as the golden sun goes down

for he’s a dreamer

feels the love of living life

still he knows there’s so much to learn

wonders why the evening sunset burns…

for he’s a dreamer

he’s a dreamer

still a dreamer…

from  He’s A Dreamer,  on the CD Walkin’ Slow by Jerry Paquette

  1. Each time I hear something from Walkin’ Slow or in this case read a lyric, I’m reminded how absolutely wonderful that whole album is.
And of course I start to think of how blessed I am to know this wonderful man.
My love and prayers are with you…

  2. You are in my thoughts, in my prayers, in my wishes, you are in my heart; seemed to be a nice place to keep you too!!

  3. In all the years I have known Jerry, he was always uncomfortable with compliments and would pass them off with a sort of self effacing humor which would make you want to laugh right along with him. He thinks of himself as a “simple man” and the example he has set all of us in his circle of friends is “priceless” I see that quiet humility in Lucus and Shelly and wish I had some but regretfully not. Every day I am with you in my thoughts and feel like I am a part of this very intimate privilege allowed to me by the “fabulous” Paquette family. Love you Claire, you are a strong woman and you all have been through so much in the past two years. Thanks Shelly, for continuing the communication. You are an amazing person as well. Gratefully present, Sherry

  4. A small addendum please: I meant quiet humility in Lucas and Susan, as I have not met Shelly but feel I know her. Thankyou.

  5. Thank you Shelly for posting these because I want to keep up with how Jerry is doing, but I want to leave the time with him to the family. My heart is with you all.

  6. Colin and myself thank the Paquette family and you Shelley for allowing us to keep in touch with your updates. Our continual thoughts and prayers are with you all! Only wonderful memories of times shared.
