I Hope that You’ll Remember Me
A tear falls and runs down
his face as he puts down his guitar.
He looked out at the crowd to speak
to those who’d come so far.
He said, “I’ve sung a million songs
in honky tonks and bars.
Tonight I’ve done my last song,
me and my guitar.
To all you folk who shared your love
and made my life worthwhile,
Thank you now from down in my heart,
I’m crying behind this smile.
I hope that you’ll remember me
when summer sings its song,
time has brought my winter now I haven’t got too long.”

Jerry, you have brought so much to my life in so many ways…. When I think of music, I think of you. When I go to an event with local musicians, I think of you. When I think of a person to talk to, to rely on, who is committed to community, I think of you.
Always, Jill Dashwood

To our Dear Jerry:
A ball is a circle, no beginning, no end
It keeps us together like our Circle of Friends
But the treasure inside for you to see
Is the treasure of friendship you’ve granted to me.
Our Love and Prayers,

Jerry, I don’t know if you’ll be able to see this, or hear it, but it’s the last song we worked on in December, after Christmas we were to finish it off.
The Perfect Place
This vessel will sail…to the edge of the world
it might not return…ever again
this mountain will reach…all the way to the heavens
never try to climb down…in the rain
find the perfect place
to let your heart go….and go
this child in the shadows….needs teaching and light
listen to the words, children say
these people will share…all their hopes for eachother
keep all the dreams safe…and know that they care
find the perfect place
to let your heart go….and go….and go…
the changes of season….turn winter to spring
and the summers in waiting…will change everything
this vessel will sail…to the edge of the world
it might not return…ever again
find the perfect place
to let your heart go….and go….and go…
let your heart go….
Your 1978 writing/song is beautiful. I wish everything peaceful and loving for you and yours I will carry you within my heart and soul forever more.

I can’t get these lyrics out of my mind, lyrics Jerry wrote so many years ago; and I can’t stop thinking about the many people he has touched since then. I am proud to be one of them.
I was moved today to read that there is a family member with my friend at all times as he prepares to “set down his guitar” for the last time.
If I leave this planet surounded with just one small
corner of the so well deserved love you are giving Jerry, I will be a happy man.
Thanks to the Pacquette family for showering Jerry with the love so many of us feel for him.
