Jerry continues to hang in there and had a comfortable night last night. He is sleeping all of the time now, and one of us is always with him.

From a song written in 2003:
The ways of the heart I don’t understand,
Though at times I confess I pretend,
As the moon reveals part of the mystery,
I’m so glad just to know you’re my friend,
As the wind caresses the shining sea,
And the sun takes the chill from my bones,
It’s a comfort and joy you have brought to me,
For you a place in my heart I will hold.
I will hold you in my heart my friend,
I will hold you in my heart,
Though I don’t know when we will meet again,
I will hold you close in my heart.
Much love to Jerry, Susan, Alyce, Lucas, Jerry’s Mom and brothers, and the rest of the extended family from Lynne, Michael, and Robin.

Thinking of you and sending sunshine from the big prairie sky to give you warmth at least. Jerry, perhaps you won’t hear this but I am still working on your uncle’s guitar – the little old painted one – and have much of the paint off of the finish now. I will make it as good I can and send it back to your loving family. I had hoped for you to see it but it seems I am too slow.
with love from us both to you all,
Heather & Ken

Thank you Shelly for keeping us in touch. I think of you all every day. There are so many of us that love and admire your whole family and want to show our support in this time. This blog has been a Godsend.
It means so much to know that Jerry is not in pain and is dreaming of his next project.

Shelley, bless your heart for taking the time to keep all us wayward travelers informed of Jerry’s journey.
Your thoughtfulness and dedication to your sister and her family and all us strangers and musicians who Jerry adopted over the years is a wonderful beacon of Love and Hope in these tragic times.
You are truly an Angel of Mercy, and I wish for you many blessings of Peace, Joy, and Love in these next few also very hard times.

I will not say goodbye my beautiful friend. We will meet again and there will be music. I woke that morning you slipped away with tears soaking my pillow. I’ll cry no more, instead look foreward to a recording session of musical joy. Lynne and I will keep your memory in our hearts.I will not say goodbye. We will meet again. Gary & Lynne
