  2. Hey Jerry,

It is good to hear that you’re doing better. You certainly have a lot of people thinking of you, praying for you, and sending love your way.

When I last saw you, you said that no one had any humour over there so I got a joke for you. Perhaps a bit lame but it carries some Paquette-ish humour I think. Here goes:

    ____________
An Alsatian ( a kind of dog ) went to a telegram office, took out a blank form and wrote, “Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof. Woof.”

The clerk examined the paper and politely told the dog: “There are only nine words here. You could send another ‘Woof’ for the same price.”

“But,” the dog replied, “that would make no sense at all.”
    __________

Okay now I was also trying to think of an inspirational quote to lift you up and I ended up going back to my personal favourite. I stole it from a movie…but I think it can relate to your current situation.

As it pertains to life and hard times: “Without the bitter, the sweet aint as sweet” You’ve just had a whole lot of bitter so what ever you have coming is going to be really sweet.

Anyhow Jerry, keep your optimistic attitude. Hope to see you on April 3!

    All our love and respect,

    Garrett & Angela

  3. Hi Jerry, Susan knows of my plans to come over tomorrow (thurs) at 11:30. I’ll check before venturing out.
Always a pleasure to see you, so very glad you’re on an upturn.
Saw Roger yesterday, a very nice guy. I even saw the great big whale vertebrae in his office!
    Sing it out…….
    Bobby

  4. Hello Lovely One…

Just a wee note to say that Jim and I are holding you and your family near & dear Jerry in our hearts and thoughts, and I am visualizing Pacman with a viracious appetite…doing his job of cleaning up and supporting a renewed sense of wellness:)

Much love to you all, Jeanie & Jim xoxox

  5. Hi Jerry. I am down in Bellingham with my sweetie for a few days – Michael & I are both thinking of you lots and sending a huge lot of love and warm & good thoughts your way. Our house is sold and we are getting ready for the next part of our life’s journey… Robin & I came by a couple of times, but you have a very big family and we felt they should come ahead of us.
We love you always and are very happy to see you are having better days. Hugs, Lynne
PS Love and hugs to your family too.

PS M & I are very thankful for the Blog site so we know what’s going on.

  6. Jerry recorded and produced a great CD for Slim and the Deuces at the Blues Underground. Each time I listen or talk of it I’ll remember him. You can hear his work at the attached website. Thank you Jerry. May you rest in peace. John

  7. My heart goes out to Jerry’s family and I am so very sorry for your loss.
Jerry was my parents’ neighbour – right across the alley. Mom always said that the yard work would stop when Jerry and Dad would get outside and start “jawing” together.
Dad was very proud to say he knew a professional musician!
When Mom died in 2005, Jerry was there to spend just a little more time with my Dad. I will never forget that.
For Alyse and Lucas: I heard the stories when you were kids about Alyse dancing on the sundeck and Lucus bouncing around the yard! It’s really hard to lose a Dad. But keep those special moments in your heart and part of your life. I miss my Dad very much but he gave me so many “gifts” as your Dad gave to you. It hurts a lot, but the memories are priceless and time truly does heal. The hurt never really goes away but it does become smaller and you will be able to smile about the good times.
Dave and I also have a personal experience with Jerry. We live in Ladysmith and every year go to the “Festival of Lights” where Jerry would sing. I would tell everyone in sight that he was my Dad’s neighbour and friend!
I will be out of the country on June 6, but Dave will be there to represent our family. I am so thankful that my family had the chance to know Jerry and were honoured to call him not only a neighbour, but a friend.
